Travertine comes in a honed (matte finish) and a polished finish. These finishes need to be cared for and will from time to time need honing to remove scratches and etching or it will need to be re-polished and sealed. Marble Plus Floor Care offers services that will keep your travertine looking like new. We can clean, hone or polish and seal your travertine.
If you desire we can custom finish your travertine to the finish of your choice. From time to time holes will become exposed in the filled travertine and we can repair these holes and make your travertine look new again.
ABOUT OUR SERVICES
Travertine can be honed and polished to a stunningly beautiful finish: satin/matte, polished, or custom. The holes that naturally occur in this type of stone can be cleaned and left alone for a weathered, rustic look or filled (floated) with specialty fillers tinted to blend with the surrounding stone for a smoother, more elegant appearance. Either way, your travertine should be professionally cleaned every one to two years, and in many cases, sealed, as well.
Our refinishing services include honing and polishing the existing finish, or changing it to a different finish of your choice, from satin/matte to high polish or something in between. If you have unevenly laid tiles, we can grind them flat, a process called lippage removal. Flattened grout lines can facilitate easier cleaning, too. We can repair damage to your travertine, and if any tiles are beyond repair, we can remove them and install a new tile. If your travertine needs to be color enhanced we can do this with premium quality products. If you are seeking guidance on how to remove travertine stains and discolorations yourself, we are here to offer guidance or help, as needed.
We provide expert interior and exterior travertine floor services for all kinds of properties in the Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, Florida area, from offices and other commercial properties, warehouses, retail stores, restaurants, and hotels to homes, apartments, condos, and more.

No. There may be an occasion, under special circumstances, that we may ask for this, but only if we tell you up front.
Please see our Caring For It page where you can download our very thorough Stone and Tile Care Guide. If you have any specific questions at any time, feel free to contact us.
The #1 culprit of damage to floors is dirt, (grit, sand & dust). The best treatment for your floor is a dry, untreated microfiber dust mop or vacuum, used every day when possible. Damp mopping is recommended on a weekly basis and whenever there are visible spills. For more information about stone care, consult our Caring For Itpage.
There is no dust created during the restoration process, because we use diamond abrasives and water.
